The DFW Airport can be frightening. It has several terminals, connected via train, and you have to add an extra 30 minutes if you are bringing back a rental car.
What this airport has though, is a Centurion Lounge.
Centurion Lounges are a product of American Express. Available for free for those with the Centurion Card (aka Black Card) or the Platinum cards. There are only seven official lounges in the world, two more coming this year.
Dallas Ft-Worth was our first Centurion Lounge that we will visit. We also have LGA, SEA and MIA on our list for this year, and we are hoping the Hong Kong one finished before August. Our visit to DFW set some high standards though!
The Arrival
Arriving at the lounge, you are greeted by a beautiful planted wall, that is at every lounge. Once we were checked in they asked if we wanted to book our spa service! We both booked a 15 minute massage session, an hour out. We then found a seat and went straight for the food.
The meals were pretty straight forward. They had a few hot options, desserts and salad. They had INCREDIBLE chicken tacos though. I’m sure there is a fancy name for it, but I just know it was good. They also had goat cheese mashed potatoes.
The drinks were a highlight though. They had a selective cocktail list plus some beer and wine options. Most of the cocktails were tequila based so I only enjoyed their version of a mimosa. Oh, and did I mention the drinks are included with the entry?
Then it was off to the spa! The spa is complimentary, you just have to sign up with enough time. The massage was generous and too short. When we were done, the gentleman mentioned that we could sign up again at the concierge desk! What?! It’s true. You can sign up for as many spa sessions as you want, you just can’t have more than one reservation at a time. So I hoped back in line for a manicure.
Overall, it’s a great place to spend a few hours between flights or for a quick drink when dashing between flights. All the employees were courteous and friendly. We will be visiting again in July where I can’t wait to get more pictures to showcase how amazing the lounge is.
